A dental Crown is also known as a ‘cap.’ They are the ideal option to restore:

  • heavily broken teeth that cannot be repaired with a filling
  • weakened teeth of decay
  • the crown of the tooth following root canal treatment

The artificial structure (usually made from porcelain) is fitted over the existing tooth restoring strength and a natural look.

The dentist will require 2 appointments, 2 weeks apart; 1st to prepare the tooth, take impressions for the laboratory to construct your made to measure finished crown. You will be left with a temporary crown in the interim. Your final appointment will be to fit the permanent crown. After care and advice will be given to aid its longevity.
